Boardercross history, rules, equipment, culture, and more

Boardercross is most known as snowboard cross in the sports world. In one competition take part 4 to 6 competitors. Generally, the snowboard’s pitch is narrow and cambered turns. Also, included drops, berms, jumps, rollers, and designed the pitch perfectly so that the riders easily challenge the sports.

Sometimes the riders collide during sports competitions both each other. Firstly, the competition follows the trial system then was held a knock-out system.

History of Boardercross sport

On a television program, Greg Stump and Steven Rechtschaffner discuss one kind of sport. Finally, they give the idea of Boardercross sport.

In 1991, Stump chose the idea and agree to give honors money to this sport in the Blackcomb Mountain. Rechtschaffner is impressive because this sport was successfully started.

John Graham give the name this game and he attained credit from Stump. After Fox TV, MTV Sports has broadcast this game. Then the sports lover country Australia, the U.S., and Canadians people started Snowboard cross game.

Rechtschaffner firstly trademarked this game positively and then the people easily take a new type of sport. F.I.S. agrees to give trademarked but Rechtschaffner refuses the proposal. F.I.S. is the ski sanctioning body.

F.I.S. declares it as “Snowboard Cross” in the Olympic tournament but it is more popular as boardercross among the racers.

Rechtschaffner create a video game series in 2000 which is called SSX for Electronic Arts. And, he shows the spirit of the boardercross sport. It was the record that over eight million game copies were sold next year.

Equipment

Every racer must be used a snowboard when they participate in the competition. The snowboard is obviously heavy or stiff but not used hardboard. The racer should use a mouth guard during competition time. Usually, it did not use all time.

Every racer runs beside each other when the game is started. So they need tight clothing. They also need body armour because in the middle time of competition the racer increases run speed and this situation is very dangerous. Body armour protects the spine and back.

A helmet is an essential part of this game and must it during sports competitions. The equipment list is-

Major competitions

After1997, the boardercross competition has an event in each X game. Moreover, in 2012 X sport dropped again in 2014 introduced. This game was introduced in 2006 in the Olympic’s debut winter season.

In early times the SSX video game broadcasted based on Snowboard. Sonic Riders racer is impressed by the Snowboard game where the SEGA race is arranged.
