Ballon d’Or (Golden Ball), is the most ancient prestigious award for a football player. This award is a yearly award presented by the French reports organization and the France Football authority. We will get here actually, the Ballon d’Or winners list from 1956 to the present.

This honorable award has to give since 1956. Then, from 2010 to 2015, this award was given another name, “FIFA Ballon d’Or” or “FIFA World Player of the Year”, founded in 1991.

From 1956 to 2006, the Ballon d’Or award was given by the voting of football journalists. Then, in 2007, the captains of the national football teams and the football coaches were permitted to vote for this award.

The world-famous sportswriter ‘Gabriel Hanot’ declared that the honor would be given to a male football player who better performed over the previous year. Before 1994, Ballon d’Or was given only to European players, and it was known as the “European Footballer of the Year award“.

Then, from 1995 to 2006, this award was given who were active in European clubs. But, from 2007 to the present, it is known as a global tribute, and it is given the most performer footballer in one-year stats.
