Sakkari made her career debut in the Greece Fed Cup in 2012. She made her career Grand Slam debut at the US Open in 2015. Sakkari reached her 1st WTA semifinal at the Wuhan Open by beating Elena Vesnina, Caroline Wozniacki, and Cornet, losing to Carolina Garcia.
