Partnered with Laura Pigossi in the bronze medal Olympic game, they defeated Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Vesnina.
Stefani and Carter reached the Miami Open seeded 8 final in doubles. In this tournament, they touched the WTA 1000 level and defeated Ena Shibahara and Shuko Aoyama in the fifth-seeded duo.
