Edmund’s tennis career and records
He reached his first final match at the Yokohama Challenger in November 2014, thanks to back-to-back wins over higher-ranked players. James Ward and Edmund stayed with Andy Murray at his training place in the Miami Open for two and a half weeks.
Tennis player Edmund won the Binghamton Challenger in July 2015, completing the final in 66 minutes, ten years later Murray won the same title.
He joined the rest of the Davis Cup team at the BBC Sports Character of the Year Show, where they gained the 2015 Team of the Year Award.
He followed this up by defeating his 2nd top seed 10 of the games in the 3rd round David Goffin, marking another milestone career by attaining the quarter-finals in 2018.
After, he made it to the final 16 at the Italian Open 2018, beating 16th seed Lucas Pouille in 2 sets, before losing to 2nd seed and ultimate runner-up Alexander Zverev. After that, Edmund won the New York Open 2020, his second title.
He missed the Australian Open 2021 because of a chronic injury to his left knee. Now, he was selected to play Australian Open 2022 which will be held on 17th January 2022.
