Josh Taylor’s boxing career and news
He started his professional career in June 2015, signing with Barry McGuigan’s Cyclone Promotions. He joined to play with WBC champion and unbeaten prospect Ohara Davies on 8th July 2017. It was proclaimed that he would defend his WBC Silver Welterweight against Veteran Humberto Soto on 18 January 2018.
It was announced that Taylor would join light welterweights Ryan Martin, Terry Flanagan, Regis Prograis, Eduard Troyanovsk, Ivan Baranchyk, WBA champion, Kiryl Relikh, and Anthony Yigit on 30 June 2018, in the eight-man competition.
Taylor won a union bout against WBA (Super) light-welterweight winner Regis Prograis by decision in the final of the World Boxing Series in London on 26 October 2019. On 22 May 2021, he faced WBC, and WBO winner Jose Ramirez, in Paradise, Nevada.
