He got his first ATP main-draw victory in the first round in Stockholm in October 2019 against Pablo Andújar.
In an ATP 500 level tournament on clay courts at the 2020 Rio Open in Brazil, he beat world No. 34 Casper Ruud, and world No. 4 Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals to reach the final match.
