Aki started his rugby career in 2011 with the Manukau club. He made his debut in the tour of the 2011 ITM Cup and scored three tries among 9 matches. On 8 October 2014, Aki played against Auckland and his club won 41–18.
Aki joined New Zealand’s best club Chiefs in 2013. He had participated in Super Rugby season 2013 in the Chiefs club. In 13 games he scored scoring five tries.
