Beach golf is another significant part of golf sport. Usually, this game is played on sand areas or sand beaches. It is the new latest version of the accessible systematic sport. Its field area is about 1.2 miles (two kilometers). Each team has two players and they try to reach the ball in the hole.

History of Beach Golf

The inventor of beach golf is Mauro De Marco. It is invented in 1999 in Pescara, Italy. At first, it was selected to play on crowded beaches and the time was selected summer season.

The authority of beach golf is Beach Golf Sports Association (BGSA). Also, this game has been recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee (INOC) and the Centro Sportivo Educativo Nazionale (NESC).

The first golf beach competition was held in 2005. This competition was held in Siena (Piazza del Campo).

In this competition had participated more than 40 nations and 80000 viewers were. Then, the next competitions were held in the summer seasons on the Italian coast.

In 2006, the Italian authority visited the area of Sardinia, Calabria.

Then in 2010, the golf beach competition was held on the coast of the Adriatic Sea with help of the University of Urbino.

Rules of the Beach Golf

Each stroke counts as one point, and the player with the fewest strokes to complete the hole wins that hole.
Players keep track of their scores on a scorecard or through a casual verbal agreement.

Etiquette and Safety:

Players should be considerate of other beachgoers and ensure their play does not interfere with other activities.
It is essential to respect the natural environment, avoiding damage to plants, wildlife, and sensitive coastal areas.
Safety is paramount, and players should be mindful of other players, spectators, and potential hazards present on the beach.

Equipment

An expanded foam ball, a strong belt bat, and a classic golf club are the main equipment of beach golf.

Ball

The ball’s weight is 35 g and has a diameter of 7 cm. It is made of polyurethane foam.
