Alex de Minaur’s tennis career and the latest news
He won the Australian Open play-off for the main wildcard into the Australian Open 2018 in December. Minaur completed the year with a singles ranking of 208.
Then, he defeated qualifier Michael Mmoh in the quarterfinals after losing to Ryan Harrison in the semifinal match. He was awarded a wildcard into the French Open 2018 but, he lost in the first-round match to 16th seed Kyle Edmund.
And, he defeated Taro Daniel and Frances Tia before losing to seventh seed Marin Cilic at the US Open. After he lost in the third round to Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open he reached a career-high ranking on 24th March 2019. From February 20 to July 20 all sports were off for the Covid-19 pandemic, then started tennis and other sports successfully.
