Tsitsipas started the season alongside Maria Sakkari at the Hopman Cup, making them the first team to signify Greece.
He made the Masters final at the Madrid Open 2018. During the match, he defeated No.4 Alexander Zverev and Top 2 Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinal and semifinals respectively before completing runner-up to the No1 Novak Djokovic.
