Hector Herrera is an international Mexican team player. He was born on 19 April 1990 and his birthplace is Tijuana, Mexico. Herrera has played in the Pachuca and Porto clubs and also Mexico national football team.

Footballer Herrera made his first debut for Pachuca in a 0-1 defeat to Chivas USA in a 2010 North American Super League on 21 July 2010. After, he was transferred to the Portuguese club Porto for 8 million EUR on 28 June 2013.
On 13 July, he made his unofficial debut with Porto in the Valais Cup final match against the French team. Herrera played his first full times in Porto’s 3-1 away, win against Arouca on 6 October 2013.
He scored his first goal in Porto’s 1-0 win against Lille in the Champions League. Also, he played an important role in Porto’s 3-0 away win over the Belarusian club on 25 November 2014. Besides, he scored his first goal of the 2015-16 season in Porto’s 1-1 draw with Maritimo on 22 August 2015.
Herrera has played in the Mexican under-23 football team. He was participating with coach Luis Fernando in the CONCACAF Olympic 2012 in the United States 2012. In the 2012 Olympic Games, he made the final cut for those in the games. Mexico’s team won the gold medal later defeating Brazil in the final 2-1.

Herrera was called up by Coach Jose Manuel de la Torre to play Mexico in the World cup qualifiers with Guyana on 12 October 2012. He has included in the 23-man squad participating in FIFA World Cup 2014 on 8 May 2014.
Besides, he scored his first goal with Mexico in a good match with Trinidad and Tobago on 4 September 2015.
After, he was selected to play FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar in the 26-man squad of the Mexican national side.
