Paul Casey’s golfer career and news
He joined the PGA Tour afterward as a Special Temporary Member and his membership of the European Ryder Cup 2004 Team fit him for the association of the US-based tour.
Casey won the HSBC World Match Play Championship in 2006, beating Shaun Micheel 10 and 8 in a record win for the final. He became the only player in Ryder Cup to victory in a foursome match.
He won his 13th European Tour at the KLM Open in the Netherlands in September 2014, his first win of the 2014 season.
Casey rejoined the tour with ambitions of making the European team in late October 2017 for the match at Le Golf National 2018.
After he finished tied for second at the PGA Championship 2020 along with Dustin Johnson, both ended two strokes behind Collin Morikawa, in August 2020.
He shot seven under-65 to hold a part of the first-round lead at the Master’s tournament, in November 2020.
Later, he claimed his 15th European Tour win in January 2021, at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, with a four-stroke win over Brandon Stone. He was named in the Ryder Cup 2021 on the English team.
