He started his year by losing in the first qualifying rounds at both the Brisbane International and Sydney International 2013 to Tatsuma Ito and John Millman.
He won a semi-final match at the Australian F8 tournament in Alice Springs and lost to Jordan Thompson in a tiebreak of the third set in 2013.
