Aquabike is a new trend in fitness, with classes popping up all over the country. On average, an Aquabike class burns 440-560 calories in 45 minutes!

It’s also a great way to work on your balance and coordination and improve your range of motion. The water supports your body weight, which reduces strain on muscles and joints. Aquabike is the perfect way to get in shape while having fun!

What is an Aquabike?

The Aquabike is a human-powered underwater vehicle that is powered by the rider and propelled by their legs. The rider sits in an open cockpit with their legs extended over the back of the bike. The bike is held to the rider’s feet by a special belt.

History of Aquabike

It was invented in the 1960s by two Swedish engineers, Lars Pettersson and Hans Engström. Pettersson had been inspired as a child by watching human-powered vehicles in a park.

Rules of Aquabike
