On 18 June 2011, she was scheduled to fight Julie Kedzie at Strikeforce, Overeem VS Werdum in Dallas, Texas.
At UFC 163, Nunes made her Octagon career debut against Sheila Gaff on August 3, 2013, in Brazil. She faced Cat Zingano at UFC 178 on 27 September 2014.
