At Wimbledon in 2007, he won a five-hour quarterfinal against Marcos Baghdatis. In his semi-final game against Rafael Nadal, he retired with an elbow injury.

He won his fifth label of 2007 at the BA-CA Tennis Trophy in Vienna, defeating Stanislas Wawrinka.

After, he started a promising career by playing in the Hopman Cup 2008 with Serbian world No. 3 Jelena Janković. Djokovic defeated unseeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in four sets in the final to earn his first Grand Slam singles.

At the Miami Masters 2010, he lost in his initial match to Olivier Rochus. He then proclaimed that he had stopped working with Todd Martin.

In 2010, he defeated Kei Nishikori, Evgeny Korolev, Victor Hănescu, and Robby Ginepri way to the quarterfinals, where he lost to Jürgen Melzer.

Djokovic won the ATP Finals 2012 by defeating Federer in the final on 12 November 2012. In the following week, he won the Shanghai Masters 2012 by defeating Andy Murray.
