Heather Watson’s tennis career and news
Watson reached the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles where they were defeated by the 3rd seeds Sarah Borwell and Ken Skupski, representing England.
After, she made the quarterfinals of the doubles event, partnering with Kurumi Nara in 2011.
Then, Watson moved on to the Australian Open 2011, where she beat Kristina Mladenovic in the 1st round. In the first round of the US Open 2011, she lost in three sets to former champion Maria Sharapova, on 29 August 2011.
Watson suffered an ankle sprain at the start of 2012. Then she lost in the first round of the Australian Open 2012 to the eventual champion Victoria Azarenka.
She played ladies’ doubles in the Olympic event with Laura Robson, losing in the first round to Sabine Lisicki and Angelique Kerber.
