She was awarded entry into her 1st ever Grand Slam tour at the Australian Open 2006, and reached the fourth round with overthrows of qualifiers Julia Schruff, Li Ting and Olga Savchuk before losing to world No. 7, Nadia Petrova.
At the Berlin Open 2006, Vesnina lost to Czech Květa Peschke in the 1st round. At the Ordina Open 2007, she got through but lost in the 2nd round to Angelique Kerber. Ingoing Wimbledon Championships world-ranked.
