He won his 1st ATP Tour title in doubles at the Columbus Challenger 2017, joining Denis Kudla.
Koepfer won his first Grand Slam Open main draw match by beating Filip Krajinović in the 1st round in 2019. He reached the 4th round tennis match of the US Open 2019 as a qualifier, where Koepfer lost to Daniil Medvedev.
After that, he reached his 1st ATP Singles Masters 1000 quarterfinal match at the Italian Open 2020.
