Justin Verlander’s baseball career and news
Verlander recorded his 1,000th strikeout in a 9-3 victory over the White Sox on 22 April 2011, becoming the 15th Tiger to do.
He took a no-hitter into the ninth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates before giving up a one-out in a 6–0 win, On May 18, 2012.
He underwent core muscle surgery on 9 January 2014. Tiger team manager Brad Ausmus proclaimed that he would make his 7th successive opening day on 16 March 2014.
