Radu Albot tennis career and news

He has won the World ATP Tour 1 title, one ATP Tour doubles, 7 singles and 8 doubles titles, as well as 7 doubles and 14 singles.

On 3 August 2015, his ATP singles ranking of world No.99 made him the 1st Moldovan player to break into the top 100.

Albot has finished in the Top 100 in year-end places for the past five years in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

he won the ATP Challenger event in Fergana, Uzbekistan, in September 2013 becoming the 1st player from his nation to victory in an ATP tournament.

Albot teamed up with Dusan Lajovic to win the doubles title in May 2015 at the inaugural Istanbul Open 2015, becoming the 1st Moldovan to victory at an ATP Tour 2015 level.

He qualified for the tournament and won two main draws US Open 2015 before being defeated by Sam Querrey in the 3rd round.

Albot reached his first ATP Tour 2018 level singles semifinals at the Moselle Open 2018 where he lost against the tournament champion, Gilles Simon.

His latest career News

he won the 2019 Delray Beach Open, making history as the first Moldovan to win an ATP single in late February 2019, hitting out Ivo Karlovic, Nick Kyrgios, Mackenzie McDonald, and Steve Johnson.

In March, he secured a spot in the main draw of the 2023 BNP Paribas Open as a fortunate participant, skipping the first round and directly entering the second round. This opportunity arose due to the withdrawal of 15th seed Pablo Carreno Busta at the eleventh hour.

In May 2023, he successfully advanced to the 2023 French Open and emerged victorious in his initial match against American wildcard Patrick Kypson. This victory marked his 101st career win, as he had previously achieved his 100th match win at the Banja Luka Open in April.
