He earned 30 qualifying points after winning the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile held last November 6, 2020, at Keeneland. Next week, he is getting ready to compete at Southwest Stakes to boost his odds and lines.
Keepmeinmind (18 Points)
Keepmeinmind recently won at the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes held last November 28, 2020, at Churchill Downs. Before that, he got 3rd place at Breeders’ Cup Juvenile while 2nd place at Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity. Hence, he tallied 18-Derby points and settled at the second spot in the ranking. Keepmeinmind is hoping to place at the Risen Star Stakes today and Southwest Stakes by the weekend.
Midnight Bourbon (16 Points)
The sire of Tiznow has now got the time to shine at the Derby. Presently earning 16 points, this three-year-old colt had earned significant accomplishments to get him on the leaderboard. He was the winner of Lecomte Stakes held last January 6, 2021, at FairGrounds. Besides, he earned other two placements which are the Champagne Stakes (3rd) and Iroquois Stakes (2nd).
Medina Spirit (14 Points)

This Maclean’s Music sire made huge wins last year. Jackie’s Warrior aims to saddle up at the Kentucky Derby this year carrying at least 12 points. Before earning the 4th place at the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, he won three titles: the Saratoga Special, Runhappy Hopeful Stakes, and Champagne Stakes.
Capo Kane (12 Points)
Last February 6, 2021, Capo Kane competed at the Withers Stakes where he clinched the third place. That said, he earned 12 points which made him into the Kentucky leaderboard this month. In the New Year, he ran for the Jerome Stakes and took home the title. This March, Capo Kane is joining the Gotham Stakes.

After placing second at the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and third at the Robert B. Lewis Stakes, Hot Rod Charlie has gained 10 points in his quest to this year’s Kentucky Derby berth. In March, this colt will try his luck at the Louisiana Derby, one of the highest point givers in the Derby trail.
