In the year 2016, he went on to victory the mixed doubles title with Laura Siegemund.
Pavić and Marach finished their partnership and Mate teamed with Bruno Soares after the French Open 2019, and won his first Masters name at Shanghai Rolex Masters 2019 in October. He reached the Australian Open 2021 doubles semifinals and Dubai Tennis Championships 2021 final in the first three months. After, he reached the final tour at the Mutua Madrid Open 2021 where they lost to the No.03 seeded Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, and the final of the Italian Open 2021, where they won the tour by defeating No.05 seeded pair Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram.
Pavic won the gold medal with Mektic in a final defeating Marin Cilic and Ivan Dodig, at the Olympics 2021.
